Dozens of commentaries have been opined on youth’s attitudes, youth’s social status and responsibility and how to manage youngster’s energy to achieve better social goods. Youngster’s issue necessitates deep involvement because of the following points. First, the size of the total numbers of youths living around the world today is extraordinarily multiplied. In Africa for example from the total No. of population more than 70% are youngsters. Our country Eritrea is part of this realty. Second, social and material opportunities are extremely scarce nowadays putting the fact that the concentration effect of modern economic system and the emerging of anti-labor new modes of production based on high-tech standards. As a country, Eritrea’s society is considerably blessed of having energetic and patriotic youths. Concurrently, the tasks of liberating and preventing Eritrea, the question of reconstructing the country’s damaged soft and hard powers have been carried away or led by youngsters whom commit themselves for utmost public goods.  Throughout history Eritrean youths were at the cores of everything. This is fact.

Undoubting this, it is also as important as good to make certain complements on current youngster’s attitudes so far to remake the magnitudes of their social essences in the context of time and a new dynamics. The reason for this could by plenty of ones, but fundamentally speaking, there have been certain structured challenges came forward from the fact that; ‘time and things are constantly changing’.

Scholars of different countries approach and interpret the youth’s problem in divergent views. Thus, demographers explain the activity of the youth in the population explosion and its significant input in human resources, sociologists talk of young people’s difficulties in reaching social maturity in a world full of social and political upheavals, economists draw attention to the effects of scientific and technological revolutions and economic crises.

Obviously neither politicians nor of any of the above can reveal the essence of the ‘’youth’s issue’’ entirely on its own. The real fact  then laid we could only lead to correct conclusions about young people’s role in society and their special essence if we have a correct understanding on a youth as not only an object of decisions but also are the subject of an action.

Emphasizing this, the rational that needed to be internalized by all youths could be; to asses our physical and intellectual readiness in defining our social positions on the most acute problems of our time; war and peace, development, the utilization of scientific and technological achievements, the purpose of art and literature, and in a most sensual manner the meaning of our life in social arrangements.

In his youth man aspires to prove his worth more than at any other time in his life. And it is essential that this bubbling energy is not discharged into a void, that the personality be truly expressed and its inner talents fully developed unless it is cultivated. This is a stage of youngster’s reality with specific secio- demographic and psychological features inherently and with substantial physical and psychological maturity for being socially fit.

Social maturation on the other hand is an agonizingly a difficult process. This is a social condition of which a more complex factors of culture, politics and other issues and their radical influence upon the youth’s behavior. It is this stage and the subsequent social adaption marked what a youth means and who is the sole actor for social responsibility on its continuity and change and vilifies what energy could a youth prevails.

During this age, young people having completed their education and vocational training enter into productivity level and stabilize their basic principles of world outlook and aims. They acquire a definite status in society both at individual and collective level, by exerting an essential influence on the status quo. Thus, youth is present in its direct and dynamic relation to the social system, to the nature of social relations, to its place in the system of material and spiritual production and so on.

One then can formulate fairly concretely the basic features distinguishing youth as a specific section of society as an age category defined temporally by the need to prepare for performing certain social roles.

The rate at which modern societies developed, developing and further advancement have been proved by the subsistent energy whereby youths are at heart. History proves this to be true. Revolutions, industrialization, urbanization and radical social advancements have been nonetheless but the noble fruits of youths engagements.

What a youth should acquire for being socially fit then, he/she could have acquired both psychological and intellectual maturity considerably.

In close touch with our Eritrean reality, our historical background proves that how a tremendous youth’s energy defeated challenges and advances our international legal and political position both as a nation and as a people.

So do after independence, Eritrea’s fortune of its young which is inextricably linked with its regional destines (the forces of reaction still prevails) have been justified to how extent is Eritrea blessed and is debunking the myth of ‘The lost’ and ‘indifferent’ into the youth of skeptics.

In presenting this special national specifics, young people’s live, their position and role in society and their needs become also the object of close and constant government attention which insured by certain guarantees which fully apply to youth. For instance, the right to work is ensured by steady expansion in production, planned economic development, free choice of carrier and free vocational training with special privilege for young people.

The objective conditions created by the Eritrean government have had a decisive effect on the way youths has developed their socio-political activities, independent action with initiative social consciousness’s

What question then that needed to be addressed will be do young people are aware of the wide scope for independent activity offered them and are  they aware of showing respect in to the  social affairs.

Thus, in fulfilling our social essence and influencing the status quo, we all youths should be the change we wish to see in our respective society. We have to fill full the following duties as both the agents of maintaining all the prides of our Eritrean history and ensuring the survival of it by dedicating for the societal goods.

First, the duty of every youth to be as a social capital is to be professionally festooned. There for as a young, we have to work at it.

A youngster can only make an independent and conscious decision when he knows and has taken into account all the important circumstances, namely; the needs of society (or of economic) for certain specialist; the demands a particular job make on a person’s individual qualities; the personal potentials of the youngster concerned (abilities, training, inclination and interests); and the wide scope opportunities for further advancement.

In granting opportunity for study, the government makes the school free and the younger people themselves responsible for obligatory study. The higher level general and special education is an important factor for both to personal and national development equitably.

An Eritrean youth has also second sacred duty. To defend the country is the sacred duty of every citizen in the country with special attention of the youth. We are living in uncertain regional and international system whereby the powerful one survives. There for, we should unpardonably naive to ignore the forces of aggression and reactions. To describe the social essence of our armed forces, and their moral and military quality, we could refer our history and its glorious military record that needed to be maintained and deeply rehabilitated vis-vis circumstances.

In conclusion, every youth is faced with important social problems of working out his/her aims and deciding on his feature life.  One may say that a person’s effectiveness in his whole life depend largely on the right choice of aim. If a young person’s intentions correspond with social needs and can be realized through the opportunities offered by society, then both the young person and society will be on the winning side. Subsequently, this is what Eritrea and its society acquired about.
