The World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS) will be conducted from the 14th to the 21st of October 2017 in Sochi, Russia. In the festival, 25,000 youth representatives of 196 countries are expected to take part. “NUEYS, representative of Eritrea’s delegation, has been making all necessary preparations since October 2016,” said the Foreign Affairs office of the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students.
According to the director of the office, Mr. Daniel Iyasu, Eritrea will have an exhibition stand depicting the staunch resilience of the Eritrean people in general and the youth in particular in defending and building the nation; the delegation will also demonstrate cultural shows and will participate in different sport activities.
The festival, which this year will be celebrated under the theme of “peace, social justice and international solidarity”, is organized every four years by the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY).
The Federation is umbrella to more than 150 youth and student unions standing against the exploitation of capitalism, imperialism, racism and more.
